We are always looking for volunteers to support the running of Leicester Neptune. Getting involved is one of the most rewarding ways of supporting our swimmers and ensuring the continuing success of our Club. Whatever you choose to do, there’s always plenty of support on hand and any fees for courses, registrations etc. are covered by the Club.

Roles

Poolside support

Support our swimmers at training or galas.

Poolside Helpers – support the coaches poolside at training sessions. We encourage our older swimmers to take an active role in supporting poolside too.  This can include volunteering as part of their Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.

Team Managers – are poolside at competitions, and ensure everything runs smoothly – e.g. preparing swimmers for their races and safeguarding.

Coaches – inspire swimmers of every level to improve, whilst making training enjoyable and fun.

Officials

Become an official and receive a pristine white shirt! Playing a key role at competitions, we need sufficient officials to ensure we can support the Leicester Leagues and run our own licenced events e.g. the Club Championships. Roles include:

Timekeepers – We could always do with more timekeepers! There’s a short online course that you complete in your own time, followed by a supervised practical element.

Judges, referees and starters – Ensure competitions run smoothly. There are various different levels and roles to get involved with.

Join the Committee

The committee meets online once a month to discuss the running of the club. We are always on the lookout for new members who can bring their own knowledge, skills and experience. If you can support the club in any way, please do get in touch.

Chairperson – takes overall responsibility for the running of the club.
