Winter League 2026 – Round 1 Report
Leicester Neptune swimmers were back in action early in 2026, with Round 1 of the Leicestershire and Rutland Winter League taking place at Pingles (Nuneaton) on Saturday 10th January.
It was a particularly tough draw, pitching Neptune against some of the leading clubs in the region, but there’s probably no better way to blow off the Christmas cobwebs then testing yourself against top opposition.
As always, Leicester Neptune swimmers gave it their best with some gutsy performances earning the team an excellent 5th out of 8 teams (see below for final standings).
Congratulations to all swimmers – a special mention for Joud, who made his Neptune debut in the boys 11 and under age group. His 50 freestyle performances were brilliant – hopefully we’ll see you back competing with us soon!
As always, a big thank you to our volunteers, parents and families that gave up their Saturday evenings to ensure things went smoothly and our swimmers were well-supported.
