On yet another sunny day (as all galas tend to fall on!) Leicester Neptune competed in Round 2 of the Diddy League on Saturday 10^th May.

Against some very strong A teams, including overall winners Corby, our young team finished a creditable 5^th out of 7 teams.

Congratulations to all swimmers representing the club, especially those making their debuts. With these new swimmers, alongside those who made their debuts in Round 1, it is really exciting to see us increase our strength in depth.

Our Leicester Neptune Diddy League debutants were:
Ashvy G
Keira K
Jimmy P
Manthan P
Eleni P
Georgia S
Eleni W

We’ll see you back competing soon!

As always, a big thank you to our volunteers that gave up their Saturday evenings to ensure the gala took place. There was an even greater effort than usual because Leicester Neptune was asked to host the event at short notice due to another team withdrawing, so it was all hands on deck.

There is a fairly full calendar of events in the coming weeks. Next weekend (Saturday 17^th May) is the final round of the Winter League at Coalville (hopefully it’ll rain), where our older junior swimmers will compete alongside our senior swimmers.

The final round of the Diddy League is on Saturday June 21^st.

We also have the second round of our own Club Championships on Saturday June 28^th. This will be at Wigston pool (plenty of space for spectators), and further details about this will follow. It promises to be a fun-packed event with Club Championship races alongside 25m races for our academy swimmers. There’ll be a few fun relays as well.

Please see our Events Calendar for more details of what’s on and when.
